Moments after lifting the MLS Cup, Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas made it clear that the club’s ambitions extend far beyond domestic success, stating that the next major objective is winning the Concacaf Champions Cup. Speaking to reporters, Mas emphasized that Inter Miami intends to establish itself not only as a dominant force in Major League Soccer but also as a serious contender on the continental stage, a goal he believes is fully attainable with the right planning and investment.

The challenge is significant, but Inter Miami enters the next phase with confidence. The club reached the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions Cup in 2025, a run that provided valuable experience and demonstrated that the team can compete against the strongest sides in the region. Heading into 2026, the organization views that campaign as a foundation to build upon, while recognizing that further roster depth and quality will be essential to take the final step toward a title.

From a roster construction standpoint, Inter Miami will have one Designated Player slot available for the 2026 season, provided the club maintains its current structure of three Designated Players and three U22 Initiative players. The new signing would carry a salary cap hit of $743,750 under MLS regulations, offering the club flexibility to add a high-impact player without disrupting its overall financial balance.

Club leadership understands that sustained success in MLS, combined with ambitions of continental glory, requires careful squad building and long-term vision. By blending star power with emerging talent and reinforcing key positions, Inter Miami aims to position itself as a consistent contender both domestically and internationally. With the MLS Cup now secured, the focus shifts toward turning ambition into legacy by capturing the Concacaf Champions Cup and cementing the club’s place among the elite teams of the region.
