Honda is taking a decisive step toward electric mobility, marking the beginning of a new era in its history. By the end of 2025, the world’s largest manufacturer of combustion engines will begin mass production of its first fully developed electric motorcycle, showing that it no longer considers this segment a mere experiment. This new model, called the Honda WN7, represents a significant breakthrough in the electric two-wheeler market and stands as the brand’s most serious attempt to enter this competitive sector.

According to company sources, the WN7’s riding performance will be comparable to that of a classic 600cc motorcycle, offering quick acceleration, immediate power delivery, and a top speed suitable for both city and highway riding. However, its range remains one of the project’s weak points: while sufficient for urban commutes and daily travel, it still does not match the endurance offered by mid-displacement gasoline motorcycles, which could be a key factor for riders seeking long-distance travel without frequent recharging.

The Honda WN7 is the production version of the EV FUN concept bike, first unveiled at the 2024 EICMA international motorcycle show in Milan, where it drew considerable attention for its sporty design and practical approach. It is a naked motorcycle with an aggressive, modern style, yet with a clear focus on everyday usability. Its ergonomics are designed to provide comfort on long rides without sacrificing maneuverability, and its declared weight of 217 kilograms places it very close to that of 600cc gasoline motorcycles, showing that Honda has managed to maintain a remarkable balance between power, weight, and handling.

The brand’s engineers highlighted that the chassis has been optimized to accommodate the weight distribution required by a large battery, while the braking and suspension systems have been tuned to deliver stable and safe behavior under all riding conditions. Beyond its design and performance, the WN7 is intended to be a turning point in Honda’s electrification strategy. The company has stated that this model will be the first in a new family of electric motorcycles that will gradually expand in the coming years.

With this launch, Honda aims not only to compete in a rapidly growing market but also to anticipate the increasingly strict environmental regulations in Europe and Asia that are driving the shift toward zero-emission vehicles. The arrival of the WN7 marks the beginning of a phase in which Honda will combine its long-standing engineering expertise with a stronger commitment to sustainable mobility, seeking to win over both the brand’s traditional riders and new generations looking for cleaner, quieter, and more technologically advanced alternatives.
