Google has officially revealed the new Pixel Watch 4, its next-generation smartwatch that promises to revolutionize the market with a built-in satellite connectivity feature designed for emergency situations. This innovation will allow users to send alerts even without mobile signal or Wi-Fi connection, making the device a crucial tool in extreme cases such as hikes in remote areas or accidents outside coverage zones.
Until now, this feature was exclusive to certain Apple Watch models, but it now enters the Android ecosystem in a major way. In addition to satellite connectivity, the Pixel Watch 4 will include a new feature called “Respiratory Emergencies”, which allows real-time monitoring of blood oxygen levels, detection of abnormal events such as falls or respiratory arrests, and automatic alerts that can save lives.
This integration of advanced biometric sensors with artificial intelligence reinforces Google’s commitment to user health and wellness. In terms of design and performance, the Pixel Watch 4 will be available in two sizes: 41 millimeters and 45 millimeters. Both models will feature circular OLED displays with a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits, representing a 50% increase in luminosity compared to the previous version. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor, accompanied by a low-power Cortex-M55 co-processor and an Ethos-U55 neural processing unit for artificial intelligence tasks.
This combination will enable smoother app performance, improved battery efficiency, and advanced features such as voice recognition, sleep analysis, and continuous vital signs monitoring. The battery has also been optimized: the 41 mm model will include a 327 mAh battery with up to 30 hours of active use, while the 45 mm version will offer 459 mAh and an estimated 40 hours of active display time or up to 72 hours in power-saving mode.
The Pixel Watch 4 will be officially presented at the Made by Google event on August 20, 2025, with its market launch scheduled for August 27. Starting prices will be €400 for the 41 mm Wi-Fi model and €550 for the 45 mm LTE version. With these features, Google aims to solidify its presence in the highly competitive smartwatch market, offering a robust, elegant, and highly functional alternative for Android users seeking the best in wearable technology.
